My feet have only just landed on British soil after an exceptional 2017 Monaco Yacht Show, and they’ve hit the ground running headlong into one of my exciting new book projects – Superyacht 25.

Launched at MYS, produced by The Superyacht Group, and supported by MB92 to celebrate their joint 25th anniversary, the luxury coffee table book will highlight the most iconic personalities in the industry, the most memorable superyachts, and the favourite anecdotes of those who have shared the past 25 years in the industry.

Have your say and vote for your idols, inspirers, peers, and firm favourites by heading to the dedicated website page, and clicking on the link to vote. Hurry, the countdown has begun!

NEW! Editor of SuperYacht Industry

The best way to start off a new year is with a new role, preferably as the newly appointed freelance Editor of SuperYacht Industry!

Published by Yellow & Finch, it is a distinguished quarterly trade magazine read by the world’s leading superyacht charterers and brokers, as well as select owners. Editorial coverage includes technical innovations, designs and products that propel this high-end market.

I am over the moon to be joining such a fabulous team at the Netherlands-based publishing house from the sunny shores of Hove!

NEW! Editor and PM on Dubois Yachts book project

I am delighted to announce that I have been appointed as Editor on an exciting new book project working with the incredibly talented and exuberant superyacht designer, Ed Dubois of Dubois Naval Architects.

Taking inspiration from the classically beautiful sailing yachts that Ed has made his name designing over the past 40 years, the book is set to be a hugely exciting and adventurous project to work on, and I feel greatly privileged to be invited on board.

For the meantime, however, it’s yet another case of ‘watch this space’!

Cruising along nicely

So for those of you who didn’t view it in the flesh at the Monaco Yacht Show last week, the latest issue of Fraser – the beautiful luxury publication for superyacht brokerage house Fraser Yachts – has finally landed.

It was a fantastic magazine to work on as commissioning editor, and we’re already putting our heads together for content ideas on the next issue.

Here’s to keeping it fresh and glamorous in the world of yachting.

NEW! Acting editor on Sunseeker magazine

Picking up the mantle as acting editor on the superb Sunseeker magazine, the official quarterly lifestyle publication of Sunseeker International, I am delighted to now be working with FMS Global Media on this exciting new venture. Producing over 300 luxury craft every year from their UK base, Sunseeker’s expert engineering and skill is beautifully reflected and exemplified in Sunseeker magazine through its exceptional design, photography and inspired editorial, and I am proud to be joining this creative team.

Championing creativity

Collector's Edition

It’s always a pleasure to make new acquaintances with creatives in your respective field. But it’s even nicer to meet people who have designed and launched work that you truly respect and admire.

So let me introduce you to designer Stuart Tolley, a.k.a Transmission, whose visual culture book — Collector’s Edition: Innovative Packaging and Graphics — due to be published by Thames and Hudson in August 2014 is an impressive celebration of specialist, deluxe, limited edition, large format graphic design that has been created for the music, book and magazine industries.

It brings together over 170 examples of the biggest and best uses of limited edition packaging, and carries interviews with some of the big names in the music world, such as Coldplay, Radiohead, Massive Attack and David Bowie, who have harnessed the power of design and craftsmanship.

Nice one, Stuart.

Back to the shop floor

I love this stage of producing a magazine — when you get to go and pass it on press and see all those months of blood, sweat and tears come streaming out the back end of the printing press sheet by glorious sheet.

It’s a time for celebration and cheer, you hope! And, of course, the time to start thinking about doing it all over again…
